Formation of new substance and irreversible process shows that curd is chemical change.

formation of milk-> curd is a chemical change

Curd once formed cannot be reversed to form milk.

The curd is formed because of the chemical reaction between lactic acid bacteria and caesin.

During fermentation the bacteria uses enzymes to produce energy from lactose.
