(The following points are maintained for writing a report)
1) Reports are of two types --i)Formal or Newspaper Report and ii)Informal Report.
2)For writing a newspaper report, at first , read the given points carefully, and give a title, preferably in all capital letters, in 4-6 words, highlighting the gist of the incident , and mark the entire title with a straight (not curved) underline.
2)Mention the source of the report, by writing --"By a Staff Reporter" at the right hand bottom side of the title.
3)Mention ---Place and Date of reporting at the beginning of a new paragraph(ex: Kol ; 02 May '20) and then start writing the actual report in simple past tense passive voice as far as practicable, strictly following the economy of words
4)Maintain objectivity of the language and divide your report in two well-organized co-herent paragraphs.

FIVE KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT
-------------------------------------------
By a Staff Reporter
Kol ; 02 May, '20:- Five persons including a child and a woman were killed and three others were injured , when a shocking road accident took place at Garia Crossing in South Kolkata, at about six o'clock early in the morning today. It is reported that a Maruti car with five passengers including the driver , was running in a very high speed, reportedly returning after attending a wedding party at Bhowanipur. The driver, who had presumably dozed off, failed to manipulate the car, when it reached Garia Crossing , and collided head on with a brick-loaded lorry , coming from the opposite direction.
The ill-fated car got upside down, injuring three pedestrians on the footpath. Alarmed by a huge bump, the local people rushed to the spot and saw all the five people lying in a pool of blood, trapped inside the car. Rescued with a strenuous effort, all the eight victims were removed to the nearby Bagha Jatin State General Hospital, where three were declared brought dead, while the other two succumbed to severe head injuries. The injured were let off after first aid.The bodies of the dead have been sent for post-mortem examination. The lorry driver has been arrested. The local people put up a road blockade, but the Fire Brigade and police quickly reached the spot and cordoned off the area. Normalcy was restored in about an hour. The police authority, however, has assured that traffic will henceforth be controlled more strictly in this accident-prone zone.
