Answer:

Literacy is a pre-requisite for the efficient functioning of democracy. It makes people conscious of their rights and duties. Illiteracy, in the words of Gandhiji, is India's shame and sin. ... The hindrances to the functioning of our democracy are communalism, regionalism and the absence of legal awareness.

Answer:

Illiterate people don’t have much knowledge what’s going around & hence can be easily föoled.

Explanation:

Eg. The Congress party in rural areas of UP state were telling people that Rome is village in Tamil Nadu & BJP is unnecessarily calling Antonio Maino (Sonia fakè Gandhi) as foreigner ! Weird thing is some believed this crâ p. If they had been educated, they would have known that Rome is in Italy & not TN. But fact of the matter is in countries like India, parties like Congress deliberately kept people poor & uneducated as they knew that they won’t vote for them once people see their real face of lôoting country for so many years & acting as agent of foreign countries. So despite being democratic country, India couldn’t develop the way it could due to illiteracy. However, things are now changing for the better & results are in front of us.....

GOOD NIGHT..
