Bile juice provides the basic medium so that acidic food (chyme) neutralizes and pancreatic enzyme (Trypsin, pancreatic amylase, pancreatic lypase etc.) and intestinal enzyme(Erepsin, amylase, lypase, carboxylase etc.) can work on it. Because optimum pH for pancreatic enzyme is ≥ 7.5. Thus incomplete digestion will occur when bile juice is blocked.
Effect on protein digestion: Protein is digested incompletely by pepsin in stomach into proteoses. And trypsin digests it further into small peptides. When bile juice is blocked, trypsin will not work properly. Hence proteins will not be broken into small peptides. Similarly chymotrypsin stops working. Hence carboxypeptidase and erepsin can't digest those small peptides into absorb-able amino acid. Body will suffer from protein deficiency.
Effect on fat digestion: Bile acts on fats to form emulsified fats. Thus steapsin or pancreatic lypase acts on it and digests it into monoglycerides and fatty acid which is further digested by intestinal lypase into simple fatty acid and glycerol. When bile juice is blocked fat digestion will cease.
Effect of carbohydrate digestion: Most of the carbohydrates is digested in small intestine by pancreatic amylase (amylopsin) and intestinal amylase ( maltase, sucrase, lactase). When bile juice is blocked this will also be affected.
