There are two things you need to keep in mind

Mathematics isn't just about solving.

Try to understand it first (be it sequences or trigonometry).

So are supposed to study sequences for real numbers and you need to understand a few basic things about it:

The first term of your sequence : Identify where the sequence is starting.

Identify the common difference between two successive terms.

Most of the times you are asked to find the number of terms in the sequence ,that you have to find out using the formula.

Last term of the sequence (In case it is a finite sequence).

Once you identify these , there are a few formulae you need to use :

the nth term formula an=a+(n-1)d

Sum of the terms Sn=n/2×(a+an) or Sn=n/2×[2a+(n-1)d].

Now the entire chapter is based on this. Sometimes you are given the 1st term and the numner of terms and asked to find out nth term or a specific term , sometimes you are given the sum of the series and the 1st term and asked to find out the common difference and vice versa.

So if you do it properly ,it won't take more than 2 hours to do this chapter. Try to solve as many questions as you can to be confident..
