Land degradation

Explanation:

When the land becomes unproductive or have no further use, we say that the land is degraded. Human activities have not only brought about degradation of land but have also aggravated the pace of natural forces to cause damage to land.

Some of the human activities that have caused damage to land are deforestation, over grazing, mining, quarrying, etc. These unproductive land can be reclaimed by making a conscious effort to repair them.

Some of the methods of soil conservation are afforestation, contour plowing, terrace farming, crop rotation, using green manures.
