human genes are in the form of alleles. there are such things as dominant and recessive alleles. the dominant allele will always be shown unless it is a pair of 2 recessive alleles. for example; blue eyes allele is recessive and brown is dominant so if a child had a brown eye allele and a blue eye allele, the brown eyes would be shown
