As we occupy the top most level so concentration of non biodegradable toxic substances is more in our body as they accumulate in an organism and increases as it is transfered from one level to another level in a food chain

Consequences of this on our body are:-


1. Maximum level of biomagnification occurs here because of progressive accumulation.

2. We get very small amount of energy as only 10%of the previous enerfy gets transferred at each trophic level.
