Human beings prefer to settle on plains why?

From innumerable years , mankind had thrived more on the plains of the earth than the hills,mountains,valleys etc. This is because plains are often the shores of huge oceans and rivers. Moreover, economically, plains are more fruitful in production processes than in any other terrain, thus the public amenities are more available. The laying of tracks for railways, roads for transportation and airports for air landing are also possible. thus, it can be easily perceived why plains are more populated than any other land-form in earth.

In plains living is comparatively easy rather than in hilly areas. Fertility of soil in plains is major reason. Also the risk factor of life is less due to natural disasters,even though natural disasters can occur anywhere but in hilly areas it caused often due to volcanic eruptions. Factors like transportation, weather, climate and vegetation make huge difference in life in plains and hilly areas
