Humans blood is in red colour due to the presence of haemoglobin .It is an iron containing protein and is made up of subunits called Hemes, which give blood its red colour. The iron molecules present in it bind oxygen molecules. The interaction between oxygen and protein molecules can also be the reason for the blood to be in red colour.
