human bone is subjected to a compressive force of 5 into 10 raise to find Newton the bone is 25 cm long and has an approximate cross sectional area of a square if the ultimate compressive strength of the bone is 1.70 into 10 raise to 8 Newton per metre square will the bone be compressed or will it Break under this force

The S  Force  is greater than S  max  (bone), therefore the bone will break.

Explanation:

F=5×10 ^5  N

A = 4 x 10^-4 m^2

l = l / 4 m

S(max) bone = 1.7 x 10^8 N/m^2

S(Force) = 5 x 10^5 / 4 x 10^-4 = 5/4 x 10^9

              = 50 / 4 x 10^8 N/m^2

              = 12.5 x 10^8 N/m^2

S  Force  > S  max  (bone)

Hence the S  Force  is greater than S  max  (bone), therefore the bone will break.
