Yes, as you know; there was once a movie I've seen somewhere. She was stuck on a container on which she does not know she was 3000 miles away from earth. Her original self called her, she was cloned all the time.

Humans can not clone themselves but unicellular organisms can, they don't need a partner to mate because they use asexual reproduction. The advantages or disadvantages are as follows

  • Asexual organisms don't require the involvement of a partner to produce their offspring. They reproduce through simple processes like budding, binary fission etc.
  • The disadvantage of asexual reproduction is that since it involves only one parent so, there's no genetic variation that doesn't help them to survive adverse conditions. Moreover, these organisms have a shorter lifespan.
  • Only a few advantages of asexual reproduction is that it maintains positive traits and the organisms mature very fast.
  • Sexual reproduction on the other hand is a slow and complex process that involves both partners. These organisms have a genetic variation that helps them survive adverse conditions. Moreover, their life span is longer.
