when we eat our food is chewed by our teeth in mouth and saliva is mixed than tongue pushes bolus and it proceeds towards oesophagus (oesophagus is long pipe like) and into stomach inside stomach there are digestive juice gastric juice mixed with pancreatic juice. breakdown of carbohydrates and other is done inside stomach. then it passes to small intestine , most of digestion occurs in small intestine . then undigested matter minerals water etc is absorbed or expelled through anus thus completing digestion.
