Invertebrates have simple circulatory system. Vertebrates have complex circulatory system. The human heart has a fully formed septum ( a partition which separates two chambers. 1) Atria 2. Ventricles) The right atrium receives de-oxygenated blood from various parts of the body. That blood is sent to the right ventricle which pumps the blood to the lungs through the pulmonary artery. The blood gets oxygenated and returns to the left atrium through the pulmonary veins. The oxygenated blood then goes into the left ventricle and is pumped out to the body through the largest artery in the body named as aorta. This is an efficient way of getting oxygen and nutrients to the body tissues.
