Male gamete called sperm, is small and mobile. Female gamete is called ova or egg. Egg is no mobile. The sperm has a long tail like structure called flagellum,that helps to move towards ova and merge in it for formation of diploid cells. The sperms has to move towards ova hence they have tail.
