SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW

Heterodont

It is known as the heterodont dentition since there are different kinds of teeth present, each type with a specific function.

An adult human has 32 permanent teeth which are of four different types:

  • Incisors
  • Canines
  • Premolars
  • Molars

Diphyodont

  • Humans have two sets of teeth during their life.
  • One temporary set which is then replaced by a permanent set as time passes by.

Thecodont

  • Each tooth is embedded in a socket of the jaw bone.
  • This is what keeps our teeth in place.

Hence, option d) All of these, is your answer.
