Humans are the most civilized and modern species of living beings ever existed on the earth.
Due to this modernization we are constantly harming and polluting our mother nature and we are also endangered species due to this modernization.(eg.radiation due to mobile towers which kills bird)
But humans are not the only species any other predator species kills their preys for food.And this is generic food chain phenomenon.
So the statement mentioned above in the question is completely false.
