You have a bag of cotton and an iron bar, each indicating a mass of 100 kg when measured on a weighting machine. In reality, one is heavier than other. Can you say which one is heavier and why???

Answer:

You have a bag of cotton and an iron bar, each indicating a mass of 100 kg when measured on a weighing machine. In reality, one is heavier than other. Can you say which one is heavier and why? The density of cotton bag is less than that of the iron bar, so the volume of cotton bag is more compared to iron bar.

ami is it right??

Answer:

hey there!

here is ur ans

Explanation:

if we have a bag of cotton and iron bar each of mass 100 kg showing in weighting machine then in reality cotton will have more mass as its density is less as compared to that of iron.

in other words weighing machine calculates the normal force appalied on it so in case of iron which is having more density will have less mass in reality.

Thank you!

hope it helps
