Yes humour in this story adds life to a boring topic like packing because of the incidents the took place in the lesson.

                                  First incident is that Jerome had to pack and open the bag two times to find his toothbrush and to check whether he had kept the boots or not. Second incident is the sense of George and Harris to pack the things as they packed the jam on top of the tomatoes and squashed them, broke a cup and the way how butter got lost. The third incident is the arrival of montmorency and the way how he disturbs the packing.
