Hi,
Here is your answer
Given:
p(x)=100x²-20x+1
To Find:
The zeros of the polynomial
Solution:
By splitting the middle term method
100x²-20x+1=0
100x²-10x-10x+1=0
10x(10x-1)-1(10x-1)=0
(10x-1)(10x-1)=0
So,
Either of the two must be zero
10x-1=0
x=1/10
Hence zeros of the polynomial are 1/10 and 1/10
Notes:
The zeros of a polynomial can be found out by three methods
- Factorization method
- Splitting the middle term
- Completing the square method
Hope this helps you.
