Karan followed correct process while priyam is wrong as when water is added to acid it will lead to.explosion and dil acid can't be obtained while when acid is added to water there is no chances of explosion (here the written acid is concerned)

Karan followed the right procedure.

Reason :

The reaction of Conc Sulphuric acid and water is highly exothermic.

This is why water should be added slowly and the solution stirred as it is cooled.

When water is added directly and suddenly to the Conc Sulphuric acid the exothermic reaction causes the acid to escape in fumes.

Hence less acid is retained.
