The title of the poem is completely valid and relevant. the act of the elephants  holding each others tails, trunks or per say "holding hands". Empowers the saying of "Unity is strength". Just like the elephants, If we stay united then we will succeed any trials that could come upon us. Furthermore, We can strengthen each other and become each others strength
