Neurons are connected with the muscles with the helps of motor neurons. The motor neuron originates in the motor region of the cerebral cortex. The cell body of the motor neuron is present in the spinal cord and the long axon lies outside the spinal cord and control the muscles. They carry the signals from the spinal cord to the muscles. The signals received from the spinal cord make the muscles to move. There is a boundary between the motor neuron and the muscle fibre called as the neuromuscular junction. When the neurons are stimulated, the motor neuron releases neurotransmitters which bind to the receptors and makes the muscle fibre to respond causing movement.
