★ Blood platelets :

• They are minute , grounded , colourless , biconvex and non nucleated bodies .

• They are not cells but species of certain giant cells of the bone marrow .

• They help in clotting of blood at the site of bound by releasing a chemical thromboplastin .

• The number of blood platelets in human adult is 2 to 4 lakh per cubic millimetre of blood .

• They are also known as thrombocytes .

★ Blood groups :

The blood groups are divided into four major blood groups which are determined by the presence or absence of two antigens on the surface of red blood cells i.e. A and B .

• Blood group O : This blood group contains both antigens A and B .
The people of this blood group are known as universal doner .

Blood group O is of two type - 1st one is O positive and the second one is O negative.
-O positive is the most common type of blood group.
- people with O negative blood group are known as universal donor because there blood group can be given to any type of blood group.

• Blood group A : This blood group contains just A antigen on the surface of red blood cells while have B antibody in the blood plasma .

• Blood group B : This blood group contains just B antigen on the surface of red blood cells while have A antibody in the blood plasma .

• Blood group AB : There are two types of AB blood group.
One is AB positive and second one is AB negative.
- AB blood group can give blood to both A and B blood group but it can only take blood group from AB +ve or -ve
- AB blood have both A and B antigen present in it.

★ Rayon :

• It is a synthetic fibre.
• It is also known as Artificial Silk .
• It is a semi synthetic fibre .
• It is made up of cellulose .
• It is an especially good fabric for summer dresses and sportswear .
• It is known to be toxic for human .
• Rayon is not very durable fabric .

★ Nylon :

• It is also a synthetic fibre .
• It derived it's name by two cities - New York and London .
• It is a polymer
• It is the strongest fibre .
• This fibre is used for making mountain climbing ropes, parachutes etc .
• It has high elongation
• They are highly resilient .
• Have excellent abrasion resistance.

★ Polyester :

• It is a synthetic fibre .
• It is very durable .
• It is hydrophobic in nature .
• It is used as cushioning and insulating material in pillows, comforters and upholstery padding.
• It is derived by coal, air, water, and petroleum.

ii) Blood platelets are known as thrombocytes.
iii) They are tiny cell fragments that are found within our blood.
iv) The platelets is to stop the bleeding when there is an injury to the body. A barrier called a blood clot must be formed to seal the wound.
v) A normal platelet count is 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood.

iv) Blood group are two type are ABO and the Rh blood group systems; they determine someone's blood type (A, B, AB and O, with +, − or null denoting RhD status).
v) Blood is invented in year 1900.

v) The market is expected to reach US$30 billion by 2020 by following an average annual growth of 5.5%.

iv) This is invented by Birtwhistle, and C.G. Ritchie--took up Carothers' work in 1939.

v) Todays it is most popular fibre in world.
