we know that
cosQ=1/secQ
=1/y
now, cotQ= cosQ/sinQ= 1/y÷x=1/xy
cosQ=1/secQ
=1/y
now, cotQ= cosQ/sinQ= 1/y÷x=1/xy

secA= y
which implies, 1/cosA=y
here, sinA,secA=sinA/cosA=xy
which implies tanA= xy
therefore, cotA=1/xy
