Hydrochloric acid is a very strong acid. it burns our finger but does not burn the lining inside of our stomach .can you tell why?

it burns fingers but lining of stomach because it produces mucus to protects stomach from HCL when it is produced in digestion

HCl that is hydrochloric acid doesn’t burn our stomach because the lining of stomach has goblet cells which secrete mucous which
1.Forms a protective layer over the stomach walls
2.Has bicarbonate ions which neutralize any of the HCl which seeks inside.
