Compounds don't have valences, only atoms have valences.
In the case of HCl, the hydrogen atoms has a valence of 1+ and the chlorine atom has a valence of 1-.

Hello!!

HYDROCHLORIC ACID (HCl)

The valence depends on the number of unpaired electrons in the outermost shell of the atom's structure

In HCl hydrogen has a valency of +1 and it combines with chlorine to form Hydrochloric acid.

and HCl have not any valencies coz it a compound
