The other way of generating electricity that uses the movement of water is Tidal Power.
- Tidal power also known as tidal energy is restrained by restoring energy from tides into beneficial forms of power which are primarily electricity by using several methods.
- Tidal power is not yet largely used but tidal energy has the efficiency for prospective electricity generation. Tides are more stable than the wind and the sun so among the sources of renewable energy tidal energy has conventionally undergone relatively high cost and restricted availability of sites with adequately high tidal ranges or flow rates, therefore inhibiting its total availability.
- Many current developments in technology and improvement in design like dynamic tidal power, tidal lagoons and turbine technology such as new axial turbines and cross-flow turbines demonstrate that the total availability of tidal energy may be greatly higher than formerly inferred and that economic and environmental expenses may be brought down to strong levels.
