Hydrochloric acid is bound with covalent bond

There are many bonds that can be covalent in one situation and the same might be ionic in some other.

For instance, HCL, or hydrogen chloride is a type of gas in which both hydrogen and chlorine are covalently bound.

At the same time, if hcl is bubbled inside water, that is H2O, then it ionizes to give h plus and Cl minus ions completely.
