H + Cl2 ====> HCl

According to law of conservation of mass

the mass of reactants is always equal to the mass of product

so

name  | reactants | product

  H      |        1        |       1

 Cl      |        2        |       1

there is only 1 Cl in products side

so add 2 in HCl that gives us

==> H + Cl2 ===>2HCl

name  | reactants | product

  H      |        1        |       2

 Cl      |        2        |       2

Now H is disturbed now add 2 before H

=> 2 H + Cl2 ===> 2 HCl

name  | reactants | product

  H      |        2        |       2

 Cl      |        2        |       2

BALANCED !

=> 2 H + Cl2 ===> 2 HCl
