Answer:

P' = 1/2(P)

Explanation:

We know that

PV = nRT

P = pressure of the gas

V = volume of the gas

n = no. of moles

R = ideal gas constant

T = temperature

In case of Hydrogen expanding adiabatically ,

n = 1

Before expansion

Pressure

P = nRT/V

P = RT/V

No change in temperature

When volume comes double i.e.

V' = 2V

The pressure will be

P'V' = nRT

P' = nRT/V'

P' = RT/2V ( n = 1)

P' = 1/2(P)

Pressure after expansion equal to half of pressure before expansion
