hydrogen is a gas and oxygen is also a gas it combine to form water os a liquid. It is intersting to note that hyfrogen burns with pop sound and oxygen is a support of combustion but eater isused as the fire extinguiser​

This is because on reacting Hydrogen an oxygen undergo a chemical change and form a totally new compound which has completely different properties from its constituent elements. Hence, hydrogen inspite of burning with pop sound and oxygen despite being a supporter of combustion water is isused as the fire extinguiser​
