Hydrogen is a non-metal, but it is placed in the reactivity series of metals. Why? Which of the metals- Fe,
Zn, AI, Hg, Cu, Ag will react with dilute acid and which will not. Explain the reason.

Metals which lie above Hydrogen in the activity series ie. Zn, Al, Mg can displace hydrogen from dilute acids, because they are more reactive than H2. Metals which lie below hydrogen in the activity series i.e. Cu, Ag, Au cannot displace hydrogen from dilute acids, because they are less reactive than hydrogen.
