Liquefied gases, such as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium, are used in many cryogenic applications.

Liquid helium is used and allows for the lowest attainable temperatures to be reached so it's used in MRI machines, cryogenic freezers and engines.

It's also been produced commercially for use in superconducting magnets such as those used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Magnetoencephalography (MEG).
