The electrolyte used in the NiCad battery is a 30 percent solution of potassium hydroxide (KOH) in distilled water. The specific gravity of the electrolyte remains between 1.240 and 1.300 at room temperature. It must be noted that no appreciable changes occur in the electrolyte during charge or discharge.
