Soap has 2 ends...

hydrophilic end- which dissolves in water

hydrophobic end....- which does not dissolve in water and clusters to form micelles

Hydrophobic(hydro:water phobic:afraid) refers to a property of a substance that makes it repel water

Hydrophilic(hydro:water philic:loving)

refers to a property of a substance that makes it attract towards water molecules
