Answer:

(hypotenuse )^2= (side)^2+(side)^2

17^2 = 8^2 - side^2

17^2 - 8^2 = side^2

289 - 64 = side^2

225 =side^2

root 225 = side

perpendicular = 15 cm. ..

Answer:

hypotenuse(h)=17cm

base(b)=8cm

perpendicular(p)=???

in rt triangle

h²= p²+b²

17²=p²+8²

289=p²+. 64

289-64=p²

p²=225

p=√225=√15×15

p=15

then

perpendicular(p)=15 cm
