Answer:

(hypotenuse)^2= (perp)^2 +( base)^2

(5.5)^2= x^2 + (4)^2

30.25=x^2 + 16

30.25-16= x^2

14.25=x^2

√14.25 = x

3.7 = X

area of triangle = 1/2×b×h

= 1/2×4× 3.7

=7.4

Hypotenuse(h) = 5.5

Base(b) = 4

Perpendicular = x

x = √(h² - b²)

x = √(5.5² - 4²)

x = √(30.25 - 16)

x = √13.75

x = 3.7 cm

now ,

area = ½ × b × x

putting the values,

area = ½ × 4 × 3.7

= 7.4 cm²

so,

Area of the triangle = 7.4 cm²
