Hormones released by hypothalamus are -
- Thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH)
- Corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH)
- Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH)
- Prolactin releasing hormone (PRH)
- Prolactin inhibiting hormone (PIH)
- Growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH)
- Growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH)
- Melanotropin releasing hormone (MRH)
- Melanotropin inhibiting hormone (MIH)
* Two hormones (oxytocin and vasopressin) are produced in the hypothalamus but are secreted by posterior pituitary.
