u can use pythagorus
h^2=b^2+p^2
which will give
17^2=8^2+p^2
289=64+p^2
289-64=p^2
225=p^2
root225=p
15=p

Pythagorus Theorm.
H²=B²+P²
Hypotenuse²=Base²+Perpendicular²
A/Q,H=17 cm
Assuming 8 cm as base.
17²=8²+P²
P=√(17²-8²)
P=√(289-64)
  =√225
P=15 cm
Hence,Other Side is 15 cm
