Writing is the most difficult of all language skills. Even good writers are required
to make several rough drafts before having them their final piece of writing. Most
of us are scared of writing. Even the sight of pen and paper makes us run away.
However, there is no escape from writing.
In our society, anyone who can write well is looked at with great respect. Writing
lets us have a 'voice of our own and allows us to express ourselves freely. More
importantly, we live in a society where most of the examinations follow the
written mode. We pass or fail an examination on the basis of the answers we
have written. If we cannot write well, we lose marks even, if we know our subject
well.
Anyone who is able to express himself well through writing is taken seriously. Be
it to remember, convey or correct something, it is best if we put down those
things in writing. Also, something that is once written cannot be forgotten, it
almost becomes permanent. We could always go back to the written document to
remind ourselves of forgotten things, circulate information and spread awareness
