2х + Зу = 20 - 2.

multiply equation 1 by 2

multiply equation 2 by 3

subtracting the equation

6x+2y= 4

-7x = - 56

x= 56/7

x = 8

putting value of x in any of the above equation to get y.

3 x 8+y = 2

24+ y= 2

y= 2 -24= -22
