i) A circus tent is cylindrical upto a height of 3.3 m and conical above it. If the
diameter of the base is 100 m and slant height of the conical part is 56.4 m, find
the total canvas used in making the tent. If the cost of canvas is 78 per m. find the

Step-by-step explanation:

Dimensions of cylinder :

Height of cylinder = 3.3 m

Diameter = 100 m, then radius = 50 m.

Dimensions of cone :

Slant height l = 56.4 m.

radius R = 50 m.

Total canvas used in making tent = 2πrh + πRl

=> π[2rh + Rl]

=> 22/7[2 * 50 * 3.3 + 50 * 56.4]

=> 22/7[330 + 2820]

=> 22/7 * 3150

=> 9900 m²

Cost of canvas is 8/m².

Overall cost = 9900 * 8 = 79200

Therefore,

Total canvas used = 9900 m²

Total cost = 79200

Hope it helps!!
