SOLUTION

GIVEN

A solution has 50g of salt in 320g of water.

TO DETERMINE

The mass percent of the salt in the solution

EVALUATION

Here it is given that a solution has 50g of salt in 320g of water

So mass of the solution

= 320 g + 50 g

= 370 g

So the required mass percent of the salt in the solution

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{Mass \:  of  \: the  \: salt }{Mass  \: of \:  the \:  solution } \times 100 \%}

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{50}{370} \times 100 \%}

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  13.51 \:  \%}

FINAL ANSWER

The mass percent of the salt in the solution

= 13.51%
