Amoeba reproduces by the process called binary fission. It is asexual mode of reproduction.
Fission refers to division of a cell into two parts. This is the simplest type of asexual reproduction and is seen in single-celled organisms, such as Amoeba and Paramecium. In Binary fission , the fully grown parent cell splits into two equal halves, producing two new cells.
In Amoeba, the nucleus first divides into two equal parts. The cytoplasm also divides into two parts each part receiving a nucleus. The two daughter Amoebae thus formed grow and attain full size before splitting again.
