QUESTION TAGS

Answer:

I am a student, ain't I?

More information about Question Tags:

  • Words used for converting a statement into a question are known as question tags.  These words or short clauses are added in the end of a simple declarative sentence to convert it into an interrogative sentence.
  • Eg.:- isn't she? , wasn't he? , can you? , doesn't he? etc.

Rules for writing question tags :-

If the given statement is negative then a positive question tag is used and vice-versa.

Eg. :- ■ She is a badminton player, isn't she?

■ They haven't reached the party till now, have they?

If there are auxiliary verbs in a statement, then they are used for forming a question tag.

Eg. :- ■ It was drizzling in the morning, wasn't it?

■ Shivani hadn't met him before, had she?
