I am currently 5 times as old as my daughter. In 6 years from now,I will be three times as old as she will be then. find our current ages.

$x = 5y\\ (x + 6) = 3(y + 6) \\ x + 6 = 3y + 18\\ 5y + 6= 3y + 18 \\ 2y = 12 \\ y = 6 \\ x = 5y = 30$
