Let the current age of son be x.

Mine age = 5x

After 6 years = 5x + 6 = 3(x+6)

➡ 5x + 6 = 3x + 18

➡ 5x - 3x + 6 = 18

➡ 2x + 6 = 18

➡ 2x = 18 - 6

➡ 2x = 12

➡ x = 12÷2

➡ x = 6

▶ My Son's age = 6

▶ My age = 6 × 5 = 30

➡ My age after 6 years = 30+6=36.

➡ My son's age after 6 years = 6+6=12

➡ 12 × 3 = 36, Mine age is three times my son's age.
