I am currently 5 times as old as my son. In 6 years time I will be three times as old as he will be then. What are our ages now?

Let your son present age be x and yours 5x

As per question:

5x+6=3(x+6)

5x+6= 3x+18

5x-3x=18-6

2x=12, x= 12/2=6

So son's age is 6years

Then your age = 6×5= 30 years
