Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of your son be x

then the present age of you is 5x

According to problem,

5x + 6 = 3(x+6)

5x + 6 = 3x + 18

5x - 3x = 18 - 6

2x = 12

x =  \frac{12}{2}

x = 6

present age of your son = 6 years

present age of you = 5x

=5(6)

= 30 years

Answer:

6 years(son) , father-30 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Father's present age=x

Son's present age=y

x=5y

x-5y=0____________1

After 6 years;

x+6=3(y+6)

x+6=3y+18

x+6-3y-18=0

x-3y-12=0_________2

Now u can use any metod substitution or elimination method and find x and y.

Hope it helps
